Spring wedding ideas: Crocus wedding
After a long awaited winter that I thought would never end, spring is finally coming! You don’t see it yet in the sunlight, you don’t see it yet in the people’s street fashion but if you look closely enough, you can start seeing little stars sprouting up everywhere. Yes I’m talking about little white, yellow and purple crocuses. To me the appearance of crocuses is definitely a sign of spring!
Crocus however is not a popular wedding flower, probably because of its delicacy and its short blooming time. However if you are a crocus lover, you can still have the flower incorporated in your wedding in many ways: the color theme, the invitations, the cake, centerpieces and wedding favors (crocus bulbs are a great wedding favor idea!). I’m not sure about crocuses in wedding bouquet though, as the flower is too fragile to be carried around without water the whole day.
This spring crocus is a non-toxic flower so they can be put on the cake or as a garland around your puppy’s neck (however the crocus in fall is clearly a poisonous flower and is not from the same family with the spring one).
I have put together an inspiration board for some crocus spring wedding ideas. The main colors are purple, white and yellow, just as the natural colors of the flowers. Thus the wedding theme and atmosphere would be quite relaxed and informal. If you want to have a vintage theme wedding, you can utilize old tea tins as containers for the crocus pots. Big tea cups as containers are also a very cute idea!
