Yep, it may sound boring, but unfortunately its the only way when your on a budget. This means there will be loads of time on the Internet sourcing items for your wedding just to ensure your going to stay within your budget.
Making a plan and sticking to it is one way to stop yourself forgetting things you need for your day to the last minute when you don't have the time to look fr the best deal!

I Have Been A Bad Blogger!
I have a huge apology to make to you lovely readers and the complete lack of posts recently, no only has work gone mad, but I have also been, ummm, enjoying the sunshine with friends and husband!
So, this means that yesterday there was no home post, so I will post a little something later to get the home juices running!

How to get the look...Part 2
I had to leave the dress for part two, its such an important part of the overall look!
The Vivienne Westwood dress Carrie wore on her big day was temporarily sold on Net a Porter, I believe it sold out very quickly!
But for something for more of a budget bride take a look at these...
This one is by Alfred Angelo, t can be bought in the same colour and in a similar material as the Carrie dress.
The above is from Phil Collins Designs, again in a similar colour and material. We all don't have a figure suited to a big dress, so if you were looking for the Carrie style, but with a little of you in there to, this dress would be perfect.
I really love this dress from Essence Designs, I think the top half of the skirt is beautiful and would, again, take Carries style and making it your own!

How to get the look...Part 1
So this morning I posted about my favourite wedding films, and the following is all about how to achieve the look...starting with Sex and the City! (I honestly cannot wait for the film...I am a big girl!)
Lets start at the top with hair and accessories. Carrie wears a bird with a cathedral veil, and has her hair up. You might want to discuss with your hairdresser the option of removing your veil in the evening but leaving the feathers in.
Ask you dress shop for veils, or take a look at Richard Designs. You may even want to go with the option of making your own, in which case there is a great tutorial on Rock My Wedding.

For feathers in your hair take a look at Accessorize, but if you did want to put your own style in your look, why not go for flowers or pretty hair clip?

Carries make up was quite a subtle, but dark eye with bright red lips!
Unless you are a dab hand with make up, I would employ a professional, the subtlety of this style is difficult to master and I would feel uneasy about doing it myself on my wedding day in fear of looking like a clown!

The Love of a Good Film
I love films, it comes from a few years working at the local cinema when I was at college. I used to watch nearly every film that came out, well it was free!
So it should come at no surprise that I love films about weddings, and I know that may seem a little sad to some, but there's a lot of beautiful inspiration to be had from the movies!

Monster in Law, it may be five years old, but J-Lo certainly rocks some very cute hairstyles throughout the film...wedding hair inspiration perhaps?!
I have to say I fell head over heels in love with the wedding dress Britney Murphy wore in this film...it just goes to show classic is timeless!
It might be a little Gothic for your taste, but Tim Burton is my favourite director, as I am sure he is to many other Brides. If you want to rock a bit of Gothic you could have a Tim Burton inspired cake maybe?
Bride Wars is my second favourite wedding film, I love dresses, the decor and the complete Bridzillaness throughout the whole film!
Of course the one and only, Sex and the City movie!
Whose better to inspire all you lovely brides-to-be then the truly original Carrie Bradshaw!
And to get you all riled up for next weeks release date...Sex and the City 2.

Off the Wedding Subject...
Sometimes I like to write about something none wedding related, and today is that day for me!
I think I'm a little inspired by the beautiful sunshine we have been experiencing recently (really sorry if you don't have it where you live yet!), but I have been on the search for the perfect summer dress!
~ The Maxi ~
I have a thing for maxi dresses, not only do they keep you cool, but you get to swish around in them all day. I especially like it when I have to lift the front of it up to go upstairs...I am quite aware of how mad that makes me sounds!

For those times when you want to dress down, relax, and enjoy the sun...ideal for shopping!
The above green dress is from New Look, the stripped T-Shirt dress is by Happy People at John Lewis.
~ The 'need to be a little bit more dressed up' Dress ~

The top white lace dress is Pearl Lowe at Peacocks, and the patterned dress is French Connection.
I am none the wiser of which dress to choose!

All Things Original
I like to be original, and I like to wear jewellery that has been hand made, vintage clothes and have original items in my house, because, although I love the Next's and Topshops of the world, I would still like to have something that no-one else has.
So when I came across the wonderful website that is All Things Original, I let out a squeal, and proceeded to email them for further info and permission to use some photos!
