Unique Wedding Idea – Bridesmaids Wearing Different Dresses

The traditional way of bridesmaids wearing identical dresses has become less popular in recent years. The newest trend for 2011 and 2012 weddings is non-matching bridesmaids. The bridesmaids’ dresses could have some little details in common, but they are more like coordinating each other rather than look exactly alike. In one of my friends’ wedding whose theme was green, the bridesmaids’ dresses were in totally different styles and colors, but they were coordinating each other: one dress was in green, one dress had green polka dots and one had a green bow. So you get the picture.

This could be a great cost saver as the bridesmaid could wear what they already own and you only need to buy some matching accessories to make them reflect your theme colors. The accessories could be bows, scarfs, headbands, bouquets, etc.  The bridesmaids also can wear whatever that look best on them. So it’s a win-win situation.

Below are some pictures I have found that could give you some inspirations for this non-matching bridesmaids idea:

Non-matching bridesmaid dresses add a touch of randomness and spontaneity into your big day. Even though this is a great idea, some of the more traditional bridesmaids might feel a bit uneasy with this big freedom. You just have to sit down and work out the best way to harmony with your bridesmaids.
