DIY Terrarium Wedding Centerpieces

If you are a plant lover and would want to have living plants in your wedding, terrarium centerpieces could be a perfect option. They are great alternatives for floral centerpieces. Terrarium centerpieces are inexpensive, have a clean, modern look and can be a great DIY project for your wedding. These centerpieces would go very well with Eco-green, vintage and botanical theme weddings. Small terrariums could also be used both as centerpieces and wedding favors for guests at the end of the party.

For a terrarium centerpiece you will need:

  • A glass container (could be a glass bowl, vase or mason jar)
  • Coarse sand, small pebbles and gravel
  • Soil
  • Charcoal (like the one used in aquarium and can be found at pet stores)
  • A small plant
  • Moss (if you want your terrarium to have a fuzzy look)

Here is one good tutorial on how to build a terrarium by Elizabeth Anne designs.
